Free Glitch Text Generator
This tool generates a corrupted, distorted version of your text using layered Unicode combining marks stacked above, through, and below each letter. Adjust the intensity from a light distortion to full corruption using the presets or the slider. Copy it and paste it anywhere — Discord, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, or gaming profiles.
What Makes Text Look "Glitched"?
Glitch text stacks combining diacritical marks — the same Unicode characters used for language accents — in large quantities on top of ordinary letters. When many marks pile onto a single character, the text appears to break out of its line, spilling upward and downward like a digital display error. The result looks distorted, corrupted, and intentionally broken, mimicking the look of a glitched screen or damaged file.
Intensity Levels Explained
- Light — subtle distortion, still easy to read. Good for usernames.
- Medium — visible glitch effect, still mostly legible. Good for bios.
- Heavy — strong corruption, harder to read. The classic glitch look.
- Extreme — dense distortion, very difficult to read clearly.
- Maximum — full corruption. Maximum marks, maximum glitch.
Where to Use Glitch Text
- Discord — server names, nicknames, and messages
- Gaming — usernames, clan tags, and profiles with a digital-error aesthetic
- Instagram — aesthetic bios and captions
- TikTok — glitchy video captions and edits
- Reddit — comments and usernames that stand out
Frequently Asked Questions
Is glitch text the same as Zalgo text?
They use the same Unicode combining-mark technique. Zalgo is the original name for the effect, while "glitch text" and "corrupted text" are broader terms people search for. This generator uses the full mark set for a strong effect, and you can also try our Zalgo generator for the classic version.
Why does it look different after pasting?
Each app renders combining marks using its own font, so the visual density and positioning shifts slightly between platforms. Lower intensity gives more consistent results across apps.
Is it free?
Yes, free and unlimited.
